Clara Gordon Bow was an American actress who became a silent film star in the 1920s and transitioned to “talkies” in 1929. Known as the “It Girl” after her role in It, Bow was a flapper icon and sex symbol who personified the “Roaring Twenties”. Her revealing clothing and spirited characters influenced American fashion and societal roles of the time. Bow retired from acting shortly after making the transition to sound. (Description of the actress according to Wikipedia.)
